A Farm Wedding in The Waikato | Courtney and Brad

Last summer I made my way to Pukekawa to photograph Courtney and Brad's farm wedding in The Waikato. The crazy summer weather had thrown all sorts of havoc around couples' weddings, but luckily for these guys it proved to become a stunning day. Via a hefty detour to get to the parents farm that was used as the wedding venue, I made it there. Like elsewhere the road between Raglan and Hamilton had suffered from a slip, making access to the north of Waikato a little tricky.

The farm had gone through a beautiful transformation to become the entertaining grounds for a beautiful wedding. The boys got ready in a super photogenic shearing shed, whilst the girls enjoyed the luxuries of the farm house. The ceremony was perched on top of a hill overlooking rural Waikato, with beautiful green rolling hills as far as the eye could see. Capturing the couple walking back through the aisle with hundreds of little rice papers flying through the aisle was a highlight, as was venturing downhill in a little farm cart to a secluded part of the property. Old native trees and a little stream proved the perfect backdrop for our photos, as was the setting light streaming down from the surrounding hills.

Many hands had been involved into decorating the barn to host 100 + people. Fresh concrete was poured, flower installations hung from the ceiling, long tables and chairs brought in. Everything was done by friends and family, which in my opinion is so special.

There is something so satisfying about celebrating a day like this on your families property. Long lasting memories are made, passed from one generation to the next. And I am so happy to play my part and capture those everlasting moments in time.

I loved the look of this wedding and if you did too, then you can find some details here: Dress Madi Lane Bridal / / Flowers The Flora Folio / Beauty Bessie S / Hair Hannah Stechman / Little Doozy Caravan Bar
