A heartfelt, family orientated Cambridge Wedding in New Zealand
It’s been two weeks since lockdown in New Zealand, and I thought to myself if I am not going to blog during these times, then WHEN WILL I EVER? It’s been nearly a year since I photographed this sweet Cambridge wedding, I can hardly believe time has gone by this fast! It’s been such a nice journey getting to know Kate and her family, from meeting up during the planning stages to photographing the big day, I felt like I had found a long lost friend.
Kate and Marco knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding. They had planned a first look and family photos at the beginning of the day at Kate’s families house. A beautiful property with gorgeous mature trees and autumn colours. Their first looks was cute and romantic, they were able to snuggle and kiss, something that would have been impossible at their church ceremony after! They were also able to have some time with their sweet baby boy and rest of the family, before the rush of the second part of the day would start of.
Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Their ceremony took place at the beautiful Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in Hamilton East. They had a lot of guests over from The Netherlands and it was awesome to see everyone getting together. To me that’s what a big wedding is all about – getting all your favourite people in one place for a good ‘ol parteee! The songs that were sung during the service were the best I have ever heard, and I had to stop myself for not ugly crying. How embarrassing that would have been!
For the couple photos we headed to Zealong Estate in Cambridge. I loved how relaxed and natural these two were with each other. There was zero anxiety to have their photos taken, in fact I don’t even know if they realised I was there! I love how the photos came out, as a true reflection of themselves. Happy, in love and without a care in the world. Congratulations Kate and Marco!
