Beautiful Raglan Elopement NZ | Peta and Dave

Peta and David had planned a big wedding at their family farm but like so many other couples, were forced to get creative with their guest numbers and wedding plans. They decided to elope instead, which turned into a beautiful Raglan Elopement NZ. They had spotted Te Toto Gorge at a hike earlier in the year, and loved the endless seascapes and mountain views of Karioi. The weather turned out to be a stunner with some light overcast and winds.

Peta and David had asked two of their good mates to be their witnesses for the day, and as they weren't married yet themselves, decided to tie the knot as well! This was one of the most hilarious moments in my time as a wedding photographer. I loved witnessing how marriage and having a wedding or elopement is different for everyone. For some, it's something they have dreamed of since being a little girl/boy, and for others it's just a piece of paper.

After the ceremony we sliced some lemon and cheered with a glass of tequila to their new marriage. We took some beautiful photos in the tall brown grasses (my favourite!), with the big blue Tasman sea as our backdrop. Then we drove along the clifftops towards Ruapuke Beach, with a few stops on our way to explore some of the beautiful outlooks to the sea. This really is a bit of magical coastline and I am so fortunately to have this on my doorstep, and to show couples the beauty of Raglan's backyard.

Later on Peta and David were surprised by their friends and family with a massive spontaneous party at their family farm. I heard it was quite the party, and I am so stoked for them they got to experience both the beauty of their intimate Raglan elopement, and a gathering of all their most important friends and family. What a way to celebrate!

I loved the look o this elopement and if you are too, then you can find some details here: Dress Lulu Jackson Bridal / Shoes Chaos and Harmony / Flowers Flour and Bloom / Signing table Royal Laboraterie / MUA Gabrielle Houghton
