Last May I had the privilege to travel to the UK for an absolute stunner of a wedding at the beautiful Orchardleigh Estate. When photographing European weddings I always hope for a bit of history involved in the location, and with this Orchardleigh wedding I definitely got my fair share! Vicky and James had rented the whole place for themselves which meant their guests could stay the night, party all night long, and have an abundance of food, drinks, helicopters and wedding cars to their disposal. OK now maybe not the last two for as long or as often as they wished, but there was definitely a very cool helicopter ride involved taking them over the beautiful 500 acres of parks and lakes. None of the guests had any idea this chopper was coming, landing only minutes after the ceremony was finished. I loved witnessing all the surprised faces of the guests as they took off for a little moment with the two of them.
The rest of the day was spent venturing around the estate for the bridal photos (where to go? Sooo many options!), drinks and dinner, speeches and boogies. Relaxed, joyful and happy, just how a wedding day should be. Thanks everybody for having me, hiring a New Zealand wedding photographer and putting all the trust in me! I loved spending the day with you.
