Lake Tarawera Wedding | Emily and Richard

Looking for a Lake Tarawera wedding? Have a peek at this beautiful  wedding photographed at The Black Barn Tuahiwi for some inspiration. It’s at weddings like these I realise how lucky I am to have amazing people like Emily and Richard book me to be their photographer. Finding the right photographer for a wedding can be tricky….it’s important the couple finds somebody that matches their vision, style, ideas and personality. Through my website and given advise I try to give the couple a fair idea of who I am as a photographer, and what I will try to achieve on their wedding day. Do we share the same vision, then great! A match is made. If not, it’s OK for the couple to look further for somebody that does. With Emily and Richard I had a feeling from their day was going to be right up my alley. And their wedding turned out to be exactly that. Their ceremony platform was perched on top of a hill overlooking lake and mount Tarawera, and their reception was at an empty black barn transformed into this awesome stylish and cosy (with the help from Teneale from The Love of Events) location. But most of all Emily and Richard were just the most easy-going, kind and caring people who trusted me completely with my creative input. It wasn’t an easy day to photograph, there was torrential rain for most of the afternoon, but with Emily’s and Richard’s awesome spirit and humour this wasn’t a burden at all, in fact, I don’t think I would have wanted it any different. Luckily afterwards we were rewarded with some dry dusk photos overlooking the lake, which I am sure was a little reward for our earlier efforts. I hope these photos will tell the story of their wedding – as a perfect, fun, beautiful and happy day.
