Last september I photographed the wedding of Amit and Terrianne at the beautiful Hamilton Gardens. The last wedding I was able to photograph for a while, since I was 35 weeks pregnant at the time! The talented lady Catherine of PoppyMoss Photography came to second shoot for me, which was a huge help since I was being all big and uncomfortable!
The day started off with both Terrianne and Amit getting ready at their parents. Dressing into the traditional (heavy!) Indian wedding attire was both amazing and challenging for Terrianne, but such joy for the (photography) eye. The traditional Indian ceremony took place at the waterfront of the Hamilton Gardens and surrounded by overflying birds, blossoming trees and a huge crowd of family and friends, Terrianne and Amit got to say their I do’s.
After the ceremony the guests were treated with an amazing food buffet, while we snuck off for some pictures around the gardens. There’s just something magical about The Hamilton Garden in winter time, with it’s big blossoms and Magnolia’s stealing the show. The reception was held in the events centre, giving the guests so much entertainment with touching speeches, dancing and amazing food.
It was such a pleasure being part of Terrianne’s and Amit day, witnessing and documenting their dedication and love for one another was a true honour. Days like these will keep my photography fire burning after the upcoming months of dirty nappies, nightly wakes and baby food!
