Elton and Maaike got married in Delft, at the council building (Stadhuis) to be precisely. A personal location for me. As a little girl I used to bike 10 kilometres from my little home village De Lier to Delft for high school, no matter what the weather was like. I remember being blown of the bike path, biking through the snow, and at times soaked undies. I’d like to say I was a good girl in school, but the truth is different. My friends and I would often ‘hang’ out at the Delft Stadhuis after school, kill some time, talk about boys, just the usual stuff 14 year old girls do. To return an odd 15 years later to this location, this time with a camera in my hand, was awesome! Who would have thought this young ignorant girl would turn into a wedding photographer?

I just love everything about Delft. It’s a charming little city with beautiful canals, old crooked houses and it’s full of bicycles. People say Delft is like a small version of Amsterdam and they are probably right. I would live in this place. So when Elton and Maaike asked me to be their wedding photographer at their Delft wedding I was over the moon!
