It’s been a while since Dean and I shot this gorgeous wedding at the Huka Falls Lodge in Taupo. The venue is absolutely stunning with its characteristic wooden little church, green rolling vine hills and sweet little villas. A perfect place if you are looking for something that has it all at a very high standard. This couple had invited their friends and family to come and stay for a few days. They had rented the whole place, and were able to make use of all the facilities. And I can tell you already, there are a lot of them!
The day started for us at the little wooden cottage Toni was staying in. While the girls were getting ready, Dean made his way to the church for some of the shots of the boys. Toni and Mark both looked absolutely stunning. After the ceremony it was time for us to head into Taupo for some shots around the lake. The morning of the wedding we had met with Mark and his groomsman to do some location scouting. What a fun way to start the day! In the end we came up with 3 different locations, the first was at this beautiful rocky shore along the lake, the second was a funky little boat ramp we happened to drive past, and the third was at the airfield. As a photographer I could not have wished for more!
After this beautiful day it was time for me and Dean to head back to Raglan. A long drive, but not that bad with some company. And one of the things I love most about being a wedding photographer is the fact I get to see the most stunning places around New Zealand. A dream come true! Enjoy these photos. xx
